Sisterhood is one of the main reasons women join sororities. Here at Alpha Phi - Delta Theta, we cherish the time spent with each other. On the morning of initiation into the chapter, we vow to exhibit the traits of true sisters: loyalty, kindness, love, and respect for one another. We believe our sisterhood lasts a lifetime and we pride ourselves on the strength and love that exists within our chapter.
Big and Little Sis
Once Alpha Phi receives a new pledge class, the chapter immediately begins a process called "ivy linking." Ivy linking is when a new member is paired up with several active members in order to get to know the chapter better in her beginning stages as an Alpha Phi. Through this process, girls bond with one another and each new member receives a "Big Sis". A Big Sis is always an Alpha Phi from an older pledge class who takes a new member as a "Little Sis" in order to establish a mentor-like family bond. Bigs and Littles are a fun and successful dynamic of our Alpha Phi sisterhood.
Sometimes it's difficult to imagine life after college. But when you get there, you'll be glad you're a Phi.
Alpha Phi provides outstanding assistance programs and mentorship opportunities for our graduating seniors to help you adjust to life in the "real world." By the time you graduate, you will have built a network of outstanding successful women who are there to assist you in your job search and throughout your career.
In addition to those connections you make as a collegian within your chapter, on your campus and at leadership conferences, Alpha Phi's LinkedIn subgroups provide supportive professional networks that allow you to connect to successful Alpha Phi alumnae professionals in your field. Seniors and new graduates receive Alpha Phi's Transitions Magazine, which helps prepare them for life beyond college. The Alpha Phi Recent Graduates online network provides job hunting support through online resources and Alpha Phi alumnae in the HR profession. In addition, Alpha Phi provides countless ways to build your resume through volunteer opportunities and internships.
New alumnae also enjoy the positive support systems provided by Alpha Phi alumnae chapters, including the Ivy Connection chapters designed especially for our young alumnae. When you move to an unfamiliar new city, these chapters provide an instant network of friends.
